In celebration of the international womens day tomorrow, I release this new track, It aint pretty. The song is a gospel/punk song that rebels against ageism, from my own - a woman's - perspective. And funnily enough, I feel that it also contains the roots of my origins and the music I wrote when I was young with Kira and the Kindreds Spirits.

One of my dearest friends Anina Tang has made a fantatic video for the track. She has done an amazing job of bringing an old photo of me as child to life and then making me grow old, which of course is not popular with AI. It really had a hard time understanding the process. People ussually want to erase the traces of time.

Anina tells us this about her process:

The whole idea from the start was that Kira would change age throughout the music video. We worked on adding visual layers that could reflect the dimensions of the song. Reacurring natural images were to contrast wrinkles, youth and old age, but also embrace the possibility of beauty in decay. In this way we wanted to celebrate the journey towards the inevitable, filled with memories of times gone by. We were particularly inspired by the symbolism of vanitas and baroque art. The fun part of the process was that through a single image of Kira as a child, greenscreen footage and AI, we were able to recreate Kira as a child,” says Anina.

Single Release: Berliner Messe – Kyrie
The First Glimpse of …Lente

Concerto Copenhagen and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir present the first single from their upcoming album …Lente—Arvo Pärt’s Berliner Messe – Kyrie in a breathtaking interpretation for mixed choir and string orchestra conducted by Tõnu Kaljuste.

Originally composed in 1990 for vocal soloists and organ, Berliner Messe later evolved into a full orchestral version by Pärt himself. This recording features the Christmas version of the mass, bringing out the purity and meditative depth of the composition through the distinctive timbre of Baroque instruments.

“What we gained with the lower pitch, gut strings, and the natural absence of vibrato seems to resemble the singing voice, breathing together with the singers,” says Nikolaj de Fine Licht of Concerto Copenhagen.

This release offers a glimpse into the new sonic dimensions revealed in …Lente, where the baroque instruments bring out the essence of Pärt's music —both timeless and deeply rooted in tradition.

Berliner Messe – Kyrie is out now on Berlin Classics. 
…Lente will be released on May 2, 2025.

I anledning af Kvindernes Internationale Kampdag har jeg skrevet en kampsang. Jeg har skrevet sangen til min optræden hos KvinFo og Rockmuseet den 8. Marts. Men jeg vil også dele den med jer.:)

Det foregår mellem under over og ved siden af os. 

Systemer designet til at holde nogen nede men vi rejser os på trods. 

Vi kæmper for lighed mellem mennesker, for dem vi ikke forstår og for dem vi elsker. 

Forstår jeg min plads i verdens tusindvis af hirakier? 

Er din kamp min kamp eller samtykker jeg når jeg tier? 

Vi kæmper for lighed mellem mennesker,

for dem vi ikke forstår og for dem vi elsker. Magten er uformel og man afgiver den ikke af sig selv. 

Vi lyser på alle dem der stadig må sætte deres liv på spil, 

I jagten på de privilegier alle kvinder har måtte kæmpe sig til. 

Vi synger for lighed mellem mennesker,

vi synger vi er klar! 

Vi hviler ikke før alle dage er 8. marts.

Det handler om klasse, om race, om køn, det intersektionelle. 

Strukturer der afgør for hvem og hvornår og hvad skal gælde.

Ingen har patent på kærligheden, sæt den fri lad den vokse vildt.

Hør kærligheden kalde den siger “der er nok til alle”.
