    Hej Venner

    Tak for en dejlig dag på psykiatrisk afdeling i Vejle. 🫶🏾Der er stadig lang vej til en værdig psykiatri. Men alle de frivillige, peers og de omsorgsfulde medarbejdere fortjener et kæmpe kram - I gør en stor forskel i andre menneskers liv og det holder jeg meget af jer for. ❤️
    I de sidste 17 år har mødt titusindvis af mennesker. som kæmper med psykisk sygdom, pårørende og fagpersoner. Det har, sammen med mit eget forløb, givet mig et stort indblik, en kærlighed og en lyst til at blive ved med at kæmpe for en mere værdig psykiatri.
    Det er uretfærdigt at de der ligger ned er dem der er tvunget til at råbe højst for at få hjælp. Det må vi andre gøre på hinandens vegne når vi kan. (Dette gælder alle steder hvor en gruppe bliver glemt, gemt væk eller diskrimineret)

    Fortællekoncert: Da jeg var 16 år blev jeg syg med anoreksi og selvskade. Min familie og jeg oplevede hvor svært det var at få hjælp i psykiatrien da vi fik brug for den.
    Jeg kom helt derud hvor en læge meddelte mine forældre og mig “jeg tror ikke du overlever dagen ud”, før jeg fik en sengeplads i psykiatrien. Jeg havde alvorlige selvmordstanker, blev tvangsfodret med sonde og i perioder havde jeg en “fast vagt” under min indlæggelse.
    Min dagbog og sangskrivning blev min vej tilbage til livet. Som 18 årig udskrev jeg mig selv. Jeg skrev og spillede musik de fleste vågne timer og det blev min måde at forstå mig selv, mine symptomer og mine drømme om et liv på. Jeg fandt en dyb livslyst og meningsfuldhed i at forsøge at sætte ild til andres skam og ensomhed.
    Jeg blev helt rask da jeg var 18 år. En måned efter min udskrivelse (i 2008) begyndte jeg at tage ud på skoler, foreninger mm og fortælle og spille mine sange.
    I 17 år har jeg talt højt om psykisk sårbarhed og sygdom, forsøgt at være med til at mindske tabuet, lyse på de dygtige foreninger vi har og råbe politikere op omkring de mangelfulde forhold i psykiatrien, for de indlagte, de pårørende og medarbejderne.

    The Alto Flute

    Lately, I’ve been playing the flute more and more — this year I've added an alto flute to my collection. The fingerings are the same, but the sound is completely different. Its deeper, richer tone feels closer to the human voice, like a breath connecting to something primal.

    Switching instruments makes me appreciate the subtle nuances of sound, the way each note resonates differently.

    The alto flute has been around since the mid-19th century, designed to expand the range of the traditional concert flute. I was forced to play it in orchestras as a student, but now I’ve really started appreciating it.

    Why the heck are we called SVIN? 🐷 (And why shouting it feels so good)

    One question we always get, specially when we play for younger crowds is, “Why on earth do you call yourselves SVIN? And why do you play so loud and weird?” Honestly, it’s pretty funny during our concerts to hear everyone shout “SVIN!” together—especially since in Danish, “svin” means pig and is also used as a swear word.

    But there’s actually a story behind the name. It all started as a silly game between us: we’d stare each other down, saying “svin” with the straightest face we could manage, and the first one who laughed would lose. Simple as that.

    On a slightly more serious note, we also chose SVIN because it’s totally unpretentious in a music scene—especially jazz—that can sometimes feel pretty uptight and inaccessible. Instead of calling ourselves something fancy like the Henrik Thomas Lars Trio (no offence to trios with these kind of names), picking a deliberately ridiculous name like SVIN makes things feel lighter. People instantly let their guard down.

    We strongly believe that a bit of humor and self-irony can open doors. Maybe, just maybe, being called something as silly as SVIN helps make our weird, loud, avant-garde music just a bit more approachable.

    So, now you know. Next time we see you live, shout it loud: SVIN! 🐷

    On the seventh album ‘Introducing SVIN’, the Danish avant garde rock-trio SVIN widens its musical scope once more by incorporating electronics and vocal collaborations with renowned singers Bisse and Marie Eline Hansen. The result is a dynamic, techno-mechanic sounding record, that aligns with the contemporary ever accelerating integration of the digital and analog domains of man and machine within human existence and experience. SVIN’s new and seventh album ‘Introducing SVIN’ expands on the trio’s bricolage aesthetics by adding a higher degree of electronics to the studio production. This delivers a robotic, futuristic feel of man and machine interwoven in a simultaneously manually operated and techo-mechanic musical multiverse. The cyborg-ish jazz rock vibes circulate in an musical reality with the natural and digital domains continuously shifting role and meaning, a stance visually reoccurring in the glitchy album artwork shaped by Ana Vujovic. Upon entering the studio, the new material was more unpolished than at prior sessions with more left to chance and the spur of the moment during the two recording sessions with producer Jens Benz (Iceage a.o.). New paths was tread and collabs emerged with renowned singer Bisse and his twisted chant on ‘Bøn’ and ditto Marie Eline Hansen’s (Traening a.o.) calmly-anxious speak on album closer ‘Dødsensangst’ As ever, SVIN hits the sweet spot between improvisation and structure, keeping enough elastic to make the music breathe, break and creating head space for the listener within the strange, soothing intersectional sounds that makes up ‘Introducing SVIN’.
