The Making of ...lente (FULL VIDEO)

Watch now the making off …Lente - an unconventional interpretation of Arvo Pärt’s music by Concerto Copenhagen and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir.

Taking an approach based in historical performance practice, this recording explores how Baroque instruments can bring a new dimension to Pärt’s minimalist and spiritual sound world. "Arvo Pärt’s music calls to be performed on Baroque instruments—so that’s exactly what Concerto Copenhagen and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir have done." - Nikolaj de Fine Licht ▶ "...Lente" is now available on all music platforms: https://BC.lnk.to/lenteID

Concerto Copenhagen presents '1774 - Year of the Symphony' in Aarhus and Copenhagen

1774 – The Year of the Symphony
One year. Four symphonies. Four different worlds.

Sat 24. May 4 pm at The Black Diamond, Denmark

Sun 25. May 7 pm at Musikhuset Aarhus, Denmark

In 1774, the symphony was undergoing a transformation. Once a mere curtain-raiser for operas and oratorios, it was now stepping into the spotlight as a genre in its own right—ambitious, expressive, and full of surprises.

Concerto Copenhagen invites you back to a pivotal year in music history, where four very different composers each offered their own take on what a symphony could be.

From the dazzling elegance of the Mannheim school in Johann Stamitz’s symphony, to the raw drama of Haydn’s Sturm und Drang period. From C.P.E. Bach’s wildly expressive and unpredictable musical language to Mozart’s luminous clarity in his A major symphony—this program reveals how richly diverse the symphonic landscape already was in the mid-18th century.

Four works composed or premiered in the same year. Each one a world of its own. A snapshot of a genre on the rise.

    Program:

    Carl Stamitz: Symfoni i Es-dur, Op.9 Nr.6
    Joseph Haydn: Symfoni nr.52 i c-moll

    Pause

Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach: Symfoni i D-dur, Wq.183/1
    Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Symfoni nr.29 i A-dur, KV.201

    Velkommen til

    ENGLISH BELOW

It’s circular and feminine and sensitive and chaotic—and that’s exactly how it’s allowed to be. My system is east and west, a journey that goes all the way back to 2017, when I made my last album and broke everything down in its old form. Since then, I’ve been trying to rediscover the joy of pure creation—in new ways, step by step.

Project after project has risen and fallen apart. I’ve been thinking about opening up that process. What has actually happened in all those years? I’ve probably been cautious. Maybe even afraid to share anything before it felt finished. So a gap has opened up—between then and now, between either and neither. And in that space, I think I forgot to use some of the human qualities I actually long to bring forward.

You open a door and make space for it. I haven’t really allowed myself to dive into that river—but I feel ready now. I think.

The old world still lingers. The one where the polished face and the finished product had to be perfect. Since then, it’s been a constant process. Continuous motion. It’s exciting, but also hard to know how to hold it all. From music to meditations to channelings—it all wants something. But it’s hard to bring it together. Now I try.

    Release!

Final talk with Anna Emma Haudal

On Friday I will finally release my album and the last episode of Generations will be published. Here you will get a last piece of my conversation with Anna Emma Haudal about our creative exchange and the song understanding, which I wrote with Silas before Anna Emma first made contact. This song strangely embraces Martha's story, but the lyrics were already written before I had been given the assignment.
Today the song is about Martha, myself and maybe a little about all of us and the secrets we carry with us.
You can hear the song in its full length, along with the other songs on the album from Thursday midnight and don't forget to watch Generations and the touching finale on DRtv from Friday and on Sunday on Flow

The video is currently only subtitled in Danish.!
