Hej Venner

Jeg håber I er kommet godt ind i det nye år. 
Jeg sidder her ved mit spisebord og kigger ud på min snedækkede have. I forgårs gik jeg i gang med at bygge en snehytte sammen med min søn. Min søn vurderede ret tidligt i processen, at der ikke var sne nok og gik ind i varmen igen. 
Jeg blev grebet af projektet. Jeg gik rundt i hele haven med en spand og skrabede sne op og samlede det i en bunke. Et times tid efter måtte jeg konstatere at der simpelthen ikke var nok sne til at lave en snehytte. Jeg havde håbet det ville sne igen, så jeg kunne bygge den færdig, men det lader ikke til at jeg kan holde housewarming lige foreløbigt.  :)

Nedenfor er et lille billede af projektet. 

Jeg er ved at øve op til den triotour vi skal på i februar-maj. Det bliver med Charlotte Schultz og Jean Anastasia. Una Skott kommer med på et par koncerter også og Adam Winberg kommer med på Hotel Cecil. 

Jeg kommer til at spille lidt mere leadguitar. Så jeg sidder og øver soloer hjemme i stuen. Det er virkelig sjovt!:) 

Jeg overvejer også om jeg skal pudse min gamle tværfløjte af og tage den med på tour. Men nu må vi se hvor gakket det bliver. :)
Du er i hvert fald mega velkommen. 
I er også alle på gæstelisten til mit arrangement ”Håndplukket” i Birkerød den 13. februar. Med fællesspisning, dans, boder og gode koncerter.

..2025 was a rough one for all. Still hoping that we'll all get wiser - and more peaceful. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

But - we kept playing the music, and talking to people. A few memorable musical highlights was working with Almut Kühne, Francesco Bigoni and dancer Bee Brown. A concert at H15 Studio completely went through the roof.

Releasing the Confluencia album in the TUNGEMÅL series on ILK Music was a true highlight. The way Susana Santos Silva, Simon Simon Toldam and Ingar Zach got involved with my music was humbling. Beautiful release concert extravaganza at Hotel Cecil with the entire BABEL ensemble + Viktoria Søndergaard. The Quartet line-up also visited Cologne Jazzweek and LOFT Köln.

Later I was nominated for a Danish Music Award Jazz - Composer of the Year, for the work with Confluencia. Great evening by Jazz Danmark.

Meeting amazing saxophonist Michaela Turcerová on stage felt like a stroke of luck. We visited venues in Denmark and France, incl. the great Jazzdor festival in Strasbourg with Simon Toldam. More will come from that, stay tuned.

An encounter with author Amina Elmi Albertslund combining music, poetry and croquis was super intense.

Picking up on the Solborg / Banke / Heebøll trio and adding Viktoria Søndergaard for a beautiful evening at the Dänische Botschaft in Deutschland. More to come in 2026.

Other parts of 2025 life included a new position teaching composition at RMC - Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium. As chair of the collective and Label ILK Music, the board and I worked intensely with funding, our new label manager and investigating new venues incl. an exciting new collaboration with the venue KU.BE at Frederiksberg. Looking forward.

The year ended with a sad and beautiful goodbye to the great Marilyn Mazur. ..safe travels Marilyn, I know you're still dancing and playing out there somewhere.

The next weeks I'll have my hands full with preparations for Vinterjazz concerts, new 2026 releases and works for 2026/27. (*☻-☻*). More on all that in spring.

When I had the opportunity to rent the historic Clarke Memorial Hall at a reduced rate, my intention was to record live performance video for promotion. I then discovered that this local landmark near my home was where my in-laws had first met at a music festival 70 years ago. The space suddenly took on a new significance and things unfolded from there, with a kind of magic. Juno-nominated audio engineer Dave Vanderploeg brought in studio recording gear to capture the beautiful acoustics of the century old community hub. Juno Award-winning musicians Justin Abedin on electric guitar, Sean O' Connor on whistle, flute and saxophones, and me on my acoustic guitar, set out to capture a group of songs live off the floor in one freewheeling take. As we listened back to the afternoon's performances, it dawned on everyone that something special had happened. These 12 tracks became my 5th full-length release, "The Clarke Hall Sessions". The unrepeatable spontaneity and creative energy of this collection includes 7 previously unreleased songs, 4 reinterpretations of fan favourites and a cool Celtic-flavoured cover of Van Morrison's "Into The Mystic.” You could say that this album is my "Trinity Sessions" - capturing what is most important to me about music, the songs and playing live.  Listen to the album and check out live videos for each song here.  Meet you in the music!

Thank you for being part of the Copenhagen Music Academy community.

CMA is growing nicely now to be what I hoped it would be - a place for music producers who want real craft, solid skills, and genuine progress.

Over the past year, we were really able to take full advantage of what a live recording studio can offer — for example when we recorded the band Anomy with students from the Advanced Pro course (check it here).

2026 is about going deeper - listening more, making stronger decisions, and creating music that actually lasts.

I’m really looking forward to meeting all of you who’ve signed up for the upcoming courses.
