Pages

Your site already has the parts built around your music... releases, posts, your membership. Pages are for everything else: a press kit, an FAQ, a run of tour dates, a note about how to book you.

A page is a real part of your site with its own address, so you can hand out the link on its own.

Writing a page

Open the Your Sleeve menu, choose Manage, then Pages, and click Make a new page.

The editor is the same one you write posts in. Type / to bring up embeds, Shift+Enter for a tighter line break.

• The address comes from the title. A page called "Press kit" lives at yourname.sleeve.fm/press-kit. You can edit the address yourself if you want something shorter.
• Pages start as drafts. Nothing is public until you publish, and a draft is only visible to you.
• Publish when it's ready. After that the page is live at its address whether or not anything links to it.

Putting a page in your navigation

Publishing a page doesn't put it in your nav. That's deliberate... some pages are meant to be linked from a post or an email rather than sitting in your navigation forever.

When you do want one there, use a slot. You have three, and they sit in your navigation between Live and Join.

• A slot with one page becomes a straight link, named after the page.
• A slot with two or more pages becomes a dropdown. Give the slot a label... "Tour", say... and the pages sit underneath it.
• A slot with nothing in it doesn't appear at all. Nobody sees an empty space.

To fill one, go to Pages and use the Nav slots panel on the left. Click Add on an empty slot, tick the pages you want, and save. When a slot holds more than one page, the arrows beside each page set the order they appear in the dropdown.

Only published pages can go in a slot. If you unpublish a page that's in one, it comes out of your navigation automatically.

Short names for the nav. A page called "Frequently asked questions about the spring tour" makes a bad nav item. Set a nav name on the page... "FAQ"... and that's what shows in your navigation, while the page keeps its full title at the top.

Where things live

• Your pages: Manage → Pages. Click any page to edit it.
• Your slots: the Nav slots panel on that same screen.
• A published page: yourname.sleeve.fm/your-page-address, or your own domain if you have added one.
