FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Sleeve?
Sleeve is a membership platform for musicians, giving them the tools to turn their fanbase into a sustainable source of income. With exclusive content, direct engagement, and subscription-based support, artists can take control of their careers and monetize their true value. Fans get access to deeper connections with their favorite musicians beyond the limitations of streaming and social media.
What is Sleeve not?
Sleeve is not a streaming service, a label, or a social media platform. We don’t rely on ads, algorithms, or squeezing artists for engagement. We are here to support artists and their fans directly, not to extract value from them.
Does Sleeve have an app?
Not yet! We’re a small team building something big, and while a mobile app is on our roadmap, you can now access Sleeve through your web browser on desktop or mobile. You can also install Sleeve as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for an app-like experience from your home screen.
Is Sleeve still in beta?
Yes—Sleeve is currently in beta. This means we’re actively improving the platform, fixing bugs, and introducing new features. We’re building this with and for artists, so your feedback is incredibly valuable. If you run into an issue or have suggestions, let us know! Learn more about what beta means here.
Who can join Sleeve?
Any musician who wants to connect directly with their fans and build a sustainable income through memberships, exclusive content, and direct support. We review artist applications to ensure that Sleeve remains a high-quality, artist-first platform.
Can fans join Sleeve too?
Absolutely! Fans can follow their favorite artists, join membership tiers, and engage with exclusive content and community features. Fans don’t need to be artists to be part of Sleeve—they just need to love music.
How do artists get paid?
Artists earn money through fan memberships and direct support. Payouts are processed securely through Stripe, and artists can set up their region, currency, and bank details in their settings—more details on getting paid here.
How is Sleeve different from Patreon or other platforms?
Sleeve is built specifically for musicians, with features designed around music, fan engagement, and community building. Unlike Patreon, we don’t expect musicians to constantly create new bonus content just to keep supporters engaged—your music itself is the focus. Whether it's early access to releases, special editions, live recordings, or direct interactions with fans, Sleeve is built to support how artists naturally share their work.
We also make it easy to share music in high-quality audio and offer pre-releases without the fear of leaks. Our built-in DRM protection ensures that your exclusive content stays exclusive, giving you full control over how and when your music reaches your fans.
Can I share my music on Sleeve if it’s already on streaming platforms?
Yes! Many artists on Sleeve share early access, exclusive tracks, demos, live recordings, and unreleased material alongside what’s available on traditional streaming services.
However, you must have the rights to share any music you upload. Sleeve is designed for artists to control their work, and our Terms of Service outline that all uploaded content must be owned by or properly licensed to you. If your music is under a label or publishing deal, make sure you have the rights to distribute it on Sleeve.
How do I invite my fans to Sleeve?
Artists can share their unique profile link and QR code in their artist settings. Fans can join for free or subscribe to membership tiers for exclusive content. Learn more about sharing your profile.
Can I refer other artists to Sleeve?
Yes! If you refer an artist who upgrades to a paid plan, you get one month free on your Sleeve subscription. Credits stack... refer five artists who upgrade, get five months free. Learn more about the Referral Program here.
