Livestreaming on Sleeve

Sleeve doesn't host native livestreams right now. You can still run a live session for your fans, and the approach below works well... including if you want to charge for access.

The short version: host the session on a tool built for live video, then share the link in a members-only post on Sleeve, so only the fans you choose can join.

How to run a live session

  1. Host it on a live-video tool. Zoom and YouTube Live both work well. Pick whichever you're comfortable with and set up your session there.
  2. Create a post on Sleeve and set it to members-only, gated to the membership tier (or tiers) you want to give access to.
  3. Put the join link and the date and time in that post. That's what your members use to show up.

Because the post is gated, only your paying members see the link. Your live session stays exclusive to the people you choose, and the relationship and the revenue stay in one place on Sleeve.

For how membership gating works, see Membership Tiers on Sleeve.

Promoting the session

Treat it like a real show and build anticipation.

  • Announce 7-10 days out with a few social posts, plus a Sleeve post or Note to nudge your followers
  • Share your Sleeve link in bios and stories during the lead-up
  • Run a poll if you're not sure what time works for your fans
  • Send personal invites to the fans most likely to show up

For more on inviting fans to your page, see Sharing Your Sleeve Profile.

After the session

  • Post a thank-you and short clips to social, tagging anyone who joined
  • Add the recording to your Sleeve page... a member-only post, a free post, or an Extra attached to a release
  • Package memorable moments into something more permanent... a great live take can become an Extra on a release page or a stand-alone member-only post
